NGIM Training Philippines 2017
I had the privilege of speaking at several churches and youth groups and with so many different groups training them in Conversational Evangelism as well as my spectrum of discipleship and apologetics. I promised that I would make my notes available and this post does that. The CE notes are shortened versions since we had some brief sessions, and my notes on “Fully Equipped” are in process as I work through the details, but I’m glad to share that people perhaps hear or see something that the Holy Spirit uses to grow an idea that builds the kingdom. In this, we can partner together.
Fully Equipped NGIM 2017
What does it look like to integrate apologetics and discipleship? For too long apologetics has been “just a seminar” and discipleship has been random, haphazard, or non-existence. If you were going to bake a cake, you have to know what type of cake you plan to bake, what ingredients to use, and how to put these things together in the right order in the right way to bake the cake you have in mind. Does the church have in mind the type of disciple that we are supposed to “cook up”? We say we should be like Jesus, but what does that mean? How do we get there. This work seeks to try to START addressing this issue and lead churches in a way to point their programs and efforts in building the type of disciples who live like Jesus.
CE Lesson 1 Full
Conversational Evangelism offers a new tool for addressing a postmodern age. Many of the traditional tools assume a Christian worldview and seem to fall short when dealing with millennials and the postmodern worldview. Conversational Evangelism teaches methods and principles rather than scripts and specifics which makes this an adaptable, flexible tool for reaching people for Christ. The first part lays the foundation and concept while the second part explains the specifics of the roles we play.
